AceHub Technologies Ltd has announced the launch of famGuard, a free mobile application designed to support public safety and community vigilance in Nigeria. The app is now available on the Google Play Store, with an iOS version scheduled for release soon.

famGuard was developed in response to the growing impact of insecurity on daily life across Nigeria, including kidnappings, attacks on communities, and delayed access to emergency response. The public safety and community vigilance solution focuses on improving early warning, communication, and situational awareness among users.
“Insecurity has changed how people move, travel, and plan their lives across Nigeria,” said Prince Chukwuemeka, Founder and CEO of AceHub Technologies Ltd. “With famGuard, Nigerians can alert those they trust quickly during emergencies and share information that helps others stay aware as situations unfold.”
At the core of famGuard is a one-tap emergency alert feature. With a single tap on the screen, users can notify trusted contacts when they feel unsafe, reducing delays that often occur during high-stress situations.

The app also includes a decoy lock feature, which ensures that once an alert is triggered, no one can see that an alert was sent or identify who received it, even if the phone is taken or accessed by someone else.

To support community vigilance, famGuard offers an incident reporting feature that allows users to flag safety concerns in their area. These reports can be submitted anonymously and help warn other famGuard users within a 15 to 20-mile radius during non-emergency situations.
It’s about helping individuals and communi...
